Ready to be inspired!??? Get out your pen and paper, and watch this!

a thought on word studies....

Yesterday I attended an awesome mentor training retreat, put on by some of the most inspiring minds I want to know!!!! Seriously!!! One thing we did was learn about word studies. Which I've know about, the how to's, the why's..... but never really have implemented them, other than my oldest did them for a while, years ago! However she had a do a word study on the word EDUCATION. So for those of you that don't know about a word study, I will give you the very simplified definition. I am sure you can get great outlines and how to's else where. Basically you take a word, like EDUCATION. Look it up in the Webster's 1828 dictionary.  fun idea is to also look it up in a current dictionary, to compare and contrast! Then Look up interesting quotes and words of wisdom from religious leaders or other wise people. Look up scriptures that relate to the word. Then reason and evaluate and come up with a personal definition. I added to mine to also look up the word in the ...

Coming to a vending machine near you.....

THE DAY AFTER PILL!!   Yes that's right.  THE DAY AFTER PILL!! "Now, if you’re like me, you were somewhere between depressed and outraged in hearing this. My 14-year-old daughter can’t go on a field trip without my permission, but soon she'll be able to legally buy the morning-after pill without my knowing anything about it. Even 11- and 12-year-old girls will be able to pick up Plan B along with their candy bars and lip gloss at the neighborhood drug store. What's next? Selling abortion drugs in junior high vending machines? (“No way!” you say? Well, they’re already in college vending machines. But maybe I'd better not give them any ideas.)" Read more  HERE. You and I live in a time when government is actively undermining the family.  We need to fight back. Oh the cunning plans of the evil one.  We must protect the innocence of our young ladies. The devil is starting younger and younger. How can these precious jewels ever survive in such a god...

Susanna Wesley, what a homeschool mom of many....

I just read  this article  what an inspirational story. I am going to look for more books and online articles to read more of this mom of many. She sounds like someone I would have enjoyed spending some time talking with.

sometimes you just need a little lift from above.....

( Colossians 3:14-16 , King James Version ) 7 That I may publish with the voice of thanksgiving, and tell of all thy wondrous works. ( Psalm 26:7 , King James Version )

Sunday Stations...week 2

and still Lovin it! This was our second week of Sunday Stations . It has been a true blessing to our family. It always seemed like Sundays, dragged on. Even though we always remember to rest and relax, and enjoy the Spirit of the day.... sometimes it also felt like the kids were getting rambunctious, because...they were bored. We had our family worship, and then Mom's Sunday School Time {new name for Mom's teaching time during Sunday Stations}, we learned about Prayer. How to pray, when and where to pray, along with the whys of prayer. The message I really wanted to teach was that prayers need to be from the spirit, with meaning and feeling. Not something repetitious and spoken clearly and loudly. I was quite impressed with my A's, and all the wonderful stories they told. I was also quite impressed with how much everyone loved the Sunday School and Sunday Stations!! This will definitely be added to our Sunday Routine.

Sunday Stations

Last Sunday A3 was reading a Friend magazine, it's a kids religious magazine Grandpa and Grandma send the kids. They love reading through these. At the dinner table, A3 was telling us all about the story she read....Sunday Stations. This is the story, simplified for my blog friends :p The family in the stories church was not until Sunday afternoon, after lunch. The kids always had a hard time waiting for church to start. So the Mom came up with the idea of Sunday Stations. She had 4 stations in the story, one at the table, one on the couch, one on the computer, and one on the other couch. At each station she set up an activity, she gave some simple instructions for each station, set the timer for 10 minutes and the kids were off, moving around the stations. In the story the stations were table- color/work on personal goals and progress, couch1- call someone Grandpa in the story, couch2- read aloud with Mom, computer-email someone close to you. Well the A's all thought this was...
