Teach By Example

I Just Love.... Mommy Inspirations! The Duties of Parents Being Examples Oh this speaks so true, in so many wonderful ways! I just printed the sermon at the bottom of her post. This will be my good night story, tonight! My SIL gave me a framed photo of the one above, it is well... not only the nicest piece of art I own, but also one that inspires me, daily! I just love it!!!

Boys and Books, and Books and Boys.....

I have been compiling some booklists for our upcoming (slow coming) school year. Well I don't want to get into all the details, or should I simply say all the excuses! However it's time to get the ball rollin'!! Here's a few lists specifically for boys! Books for Boys, and other children who would rather make forts all day.   Ha love that title! Poetry Memorization

Back in my beginning days of homeschool, we did memorization. I don't know what happened, but it's time to pick it back up! What we use to do and will start again is Memorizing Poetry. They also illustrate or decorate the page. Then the older children will do one of the following; a word study on a word in the poem (I will probably give them a few options, or have them choose one and make sure I think it's a good word), or have them narrate it as a story, or graphic summary, or maybe do an activity related to it. I might even give them the option of all those, as inspirements and let them go with

I have felt like I am loosing the battle today, the battle of life and children and everything. However we can't give up, we can't give in...... we can't get tired.  I know that when I want to give up, that's when I must fight harder.. Ephesians 6:12-13 King James Version (KJV) 12  For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. 13  Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. We must do all we can do, to be able to stand in the judgement day to say... yes, I did all I could do! I know that when these times come, I must do as Abraham Lincoln said, "I have been driven many times upon my knees by the overwhelming convi
