Healthier Goodies for the Holidays.......

You know it seems every year as holidays come around I get all excited to make cookies, and goodies, with lots and lots of sugar, and white flour, and chocolate. Then of course we eat them, and eat them, and well eat some more. The next step in the process is a stomach ache and a headache and most likely we get SICK!!!! So if you are like me you are on the hunt for a few good healthier alternatives to the Holiday Junk Food! Here's a few ideas for a healthier alternative to the holidays that our family enjoys.
Healthier Peanut Butter Cookies. A Holiday tip to make these special is to make them smaller and after they bake take them out and push 1 Hershey's kiss into the middle. Now I know Hershey's kisses are not on the healthier list. We can not afford to use the healthier chocolate chips so I just use the healthiest ones I can find and afford. I am sure there are healthier options for Hershey's kisses too. I guess we allow alittle cheating!

I also make this super yummy pumpkin cheesecake. WOW Amazing! I use the graham crackers from Costco. I have also made homemade graham crackers when I don't have them. Then I just alter it to be healthier.

Here are a few of my favorite websites to get inspiration for healthier goodies.

That being said, we still eat too much and then are reminded why we don't eat much sugar, even pure evaporated cain juice.!
Hope everyone enjoys a happy and healthier Christmas and a wonderful new year!

Sorry this was posted late, we didn't have Internet service for a few days!

Simple Morning Time Geography, for the whole family.....

In our Morning Time we will be reading some fun and educational picture books to begin our family geography lessons. Yes I'm just starting this now, in March.... sometimes that happens. We've been studying geography in both our Good and the Beautiful Language Arts, and also our Mystery of History Lessons, so I don't actually feel bad about this! First up, for our World Geography.  I decided to start with a general world geography book. I chose  Somewhere in the World Right Now by Stacey Schuett.  This book is alot of fun. It discusses different geographical areas, showing some amazing pictures. It mostly talks about the time zones and international date line. I thought that would be a nice introduction, and something we haven't really discussed a lot. We started our week off with this beauty, on Monday. After we finished our morning time, and headed to our school room. You see, we meet on our couches, in our family room for a lot ...

I am preparing, gathering and getting ready to begin {again} our unit with the littler A's about Seasons/Winter/Snowflake Bentley and Balto! I haven't gotten anything yet on Balto, he's later into our unit, so I am not there yet!! We started it the day I purchased it, I was so excited to do it!!! However I decided I better take a few moments and plan what we will be doing!!! SLOW DOWN!! I just wanted to put a few links here I have found. Since I believe in giving credit, where credit is due.... I will link you directly to the posts I stole, or I mean took my ideas from! {someone help, I forgot how to cross out words on my blog??!!??} I started with this, Download and Go Winter Wonders We are planning on extending these to the max!! Some days, might go 2-3 days, some might go a week or more. Alot will depend on the kids, and my ability! Then I found some more fun ideas Spell Out Loud, is doing the same download and go activities, and she has some wonderful links, mostly for...

Our Morning Devotional..hopefully with more clarity!

I received a comment/question about our devotional time, Tracy would like me to give more details about our devotional time. {WARNING~ this post has become extremely LONG!!!} First off before I start into all that I'd just like to say I am so glad Tracy decided to comment, and especially with a question!! The main and only reason I blog is to inspire others, help others, and well sometimes it's as close as I get to adult conversation! I noticed that as of right now {as I right this} I have had 787 visitors to my blog... and only 2 people who have commented! The other one is my O' So kind SIL!! Please feel free to comment...because as it says on the Right Sidebar...I LOVE Comments!!! I also want to clarify and answer any questions that I might have stirred in your heads with my thoughts!!! So on with the Question.... We have ALWAYS had devotional time... it's changed and grown with our family. It's what we, Papa Bear and I see as the things our children need. Just be...
